Survey Options
Surveys take many forms, but basically, survey programs divide neatly into two stacks:
- Research programs that determine what is true for people in general
- Enterprise programs that determine what is true for your company or client
I specialize in designing, conducting, interpreting, and reporting the results of enterprise programs that determine what is true for your company or client.
I offer four basic survey types:
1. Employee engagement surveys that give employees a chance to influence management about issues of importance to the entire company
2. Customer service surveys in two forms:
a. Internal surveys of departments that provide services to employees
b. External surveys of the company’s clients
3. Executive 360° feedback surveys to advise managers of how their bosses, peers and direct reports perceive their leadership ability or suitability for promotion
4. Exit surveys, conducted while the participants are still employed or 3 to 6 months after they’ve left the company, to determine why the employees left the company and how satisfied they were with the company during their employment
But every client is unique, so I customize every survey for you. I don’t use a cookie-cutter approach. It doesn’t work. An effective survey program takes into account:
- Your company
- Your industry
- Your goals
- The questions you need answered
Customizing your survey also serves to help your team own the process. Surveys gather data and send the message that your firm values certain qualities. This will be your survey because it is about your company, but also because your company will participate in developing it. In the end, you will have a survey you can call your own because you produced it…with some help from me.
Please keep in mind, customizing a survey requires a lot of skill, but it isn’t difficult or expensive. To many people, “custom” means costly. Not so with me.
